My Story

Welcome to my site! My name is Dr. Lisa M. Knox-Brown and I am a retired Assistant Teaching Professor of Professional Practice for the Graduate School of Education's Department of Learning and Teaching. I have extensive K-12 experience, having served as a classroom teacher, Vice Principal, Principal, and professional learning facilitator. Before joining the GSE faculty, in 2016, have served in these various capacities for communities situated in Urban, rural and suburban communities across New Jersey, for over 30 years.

During my tenure at Rutgers, I conducted my dissertation research  grounded in developing, supporting, and refining structures that empower, prepare, and inspire all educators to meet the diverse needs of the students they serve.  Through this research, I have been able to share my findings and assist organizations in cultivating organizational equity and productivity by addressing privilege and inequities within the workplace.
